A New Face in the Sustainability Race!

Jared Starkey, Adapt’s new Marketing Intern, shares Adapt’s new marketing vision.

Jared Starkey finishes MDI Marathon

With family in Windham, Maine, Portland is no stranger to me. I’ve spent many hours running by Back Cove in pursuit of my first marathon (Mount Desert Island) and studying at Coffee by Design. Hailing from a small family farm in Connecticut’s quiet corner, I’ve always had a calling to apply myself to meaningful initiatives. Currently residing in New York City, I volunteer with the Billion Oyster Project to promote and restore the New York Harbor oyster bed populations; ensuring a clean and healthy ecosystem for the city’s future populations. After a short career in the performing arts, I thought to bring what I learned in marketing myself as a performer to another level: pursuing a master's degree and starting an internship at Adapt Agency!

During my time in the University of Connecticut’s MBA program, I was drawn to Adapt Agency's inspiring business and sustainability models. Adapt’s commitment to opening doors to sustainability through leverage of their expertise in digital optimization solutions was the initiative I was looking to devote my time and energy to. An emphasis on hopeful futures for local and global communities is paramount in today’s struggle toward an equitable and responsible future for humanity and our planet and they share a profound understanding of this. It’s with great pleasure that I was able to meet Doug Sisko and Kresten Wiingaard and join Adapt Agency’s journey to digital excellence.

In exciting news for Adapt and the University of Connecticut, Kresten and Doug will be hosting a webinar to encourage students, the business school community, and business partners to think more holistically about the transformative powers of digital technology through a sustainability lens.
